Lodge Hill Riesling Tasting Notes by Wine Expert, David Andrews, DipWSET
Despite high levels of sunlight in the Lodge Hill vineyards, the altitude means the region is actually rather cool, especially at night. This combination of high intensity sunlight and cool temperature results in full flavour development and the pristine preservation of acidity, making this one elegant, flavoursome Riesling. Zesty lemon and lime are supported by the bitter tone of grapefruit. Green apple brings a bracing, cheek sucking acidity whilst more mellowed honeysuckle, pear, nectarine, and a little bit of Riesling's classic petrol note bring harmony.
